Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator Location: Yago School Málaga Position Overview The Diploma Programme (DP) Coordinator is a key academic leader responsible for the coordination, development, and effective implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP 1 and DP 2). The DP Coordinator ensures that the programme aligns with IB philosophy, standards, and best practices while supporting teachers, students, and parents to ensure academic and personal success. As a member of the Leadership Team, the DP Coordinator also contributes to whole-school planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Programme Management • Lead and oversee the implementation and development of the IB Diploma Programme in line with IB Standards & Practices., • Serve as the main liaison with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for all Diploma Programme matters.., • Coordinate admissions and subject selection processes for new DP students., • Maintain accurate student records. Teaching, Learning & Curriculum • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning in accordance with IB pedagogy and the Learner Profile., • Oversee and support the DP Core (TOK, CAS, Extended Essay)., • Guide curriculum review, documentation, and alignment with the MYP., • Facilitate collaborative planning and promote inquiry-based learning across all subjects., • Organize mock and final exams, ensuring compliance with all IB regulations. Staff Development • Mentor and support DP teachers through classroom observations, feedback, and collaborative planning., • Identify and coordinate IB professional development opportunities., • Lead DP team meetings and provide orientation for new staff. Student & Parent Support • Monitor student progress and ensure all IB Diploma and graduation requirements are met., • Support students with special educational needs and manage IB access arrangements., • Communicate regularly with parents and hold information sessions and workshops on the DP. Communication & Community Engagement • Represent the Diploma Programme within the school and the wider IB community., • Prepare documentation for IB evaluation and accreditation., • Maintain communication with other IB schools, share best practices, and contribute to newsletters and publications., • Ensure timely distribution of IB diplomas and transcripts. Qualifications & Profile • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and valid teaching qualification., • Significant experience teaching and/or coordinating within the IB Diploma Programme., • Strong understanding of IB philosophy, assessment, and standards., • Proven leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills., • Fluent English (Spanish an advantage).
