ppThe Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) is seeking to incorporate a mid-level technician with experience in molecular biology research projects, preferably in the field of neuromuscular diseases, to join the DM1-Hub project within the Neuromuscular Research Group of Badalona (GRENBA) at IGTP. The DM1-Hub aims to be the basis for the implementation of precision medicine aspects in Spain for the benefit of patients with Myotonic Dystrophy type 1 (DM1), prioritizing better diagnosis and optimisation in the use of soon-to-be-available treatments. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liReceive, register, and organise biological samples from the hospitals participating in the DM1-Hub project, ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality requirements. /li liClassify, process, and store blood samples and derivatives under appropriate conservation conditions, maintaining accurate records and sample traceability. /li liIndependently perform laboratory procedures for the extraction of high-molecular-weight DNA following established protocols. /li liPrepare genetic material and conduct quality control assessments for long-read sequencing applications, identifying and reporting potential issues when required. /li liCarry out DNA extraction, quantification, validation, and related sample processing activities with a high degree of autonomy and under the scientific guidance of the responsible researcher. /li liContribute to the evaluation and optimisation of laboratory workflows and participate in the analysis and documentation of experimental results. /li liPrepare technical records, laboratory documentation and reports, ensuring compliance with quality standards and traceability requirements. /li liMaintain and update databases associated with sample reception, processing, storage and tracking. /li liContribute to the preparation of technical documents, internal reports and experimental procedures. /li liParticipate actively in project meetings, training activities and scientific events relevant to the project. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liDegree in a discipline related to the health sciences. /li liHigh level of spoken and written English. /li liStrong organisational, communication and documentation skills. /li liAt least one year of previous experience in molecular biology research projects. /li liPrevious experience in handling blood samples and in basic molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, PCR, etc.). /li liExperience in long-read sequencing technologies (e.g., Oxford Nanopore, PacBio) will be highly valued. /li liAn organised, proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated person with strong teamwork skills. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 ul liTemporary contract linked to DM1-Hub until December 2026. /li liFull-time contract. /li liStarting date: July 20th, 2026. /li liGross annual salary in the range of 22,000–23,000 € distributed over 12 payments. /li li23 working days of annual leave and 5 personal days.Training sessions covered by the institution. /li liOpportunity to join an excellent multidisciplinary research centre awarded the HRS4R distinction. /li liWorkplace located at Campus Can Ruti, a top-tier translational research environment in the Barcelona area, offering a stimulating scientific setting and a friendly, collaborative ecosystem to support professional growth and research goals. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunities /h3 pThe IGTP, in its commitment to equal opportunities, guarantees equal treatment between candidates and persons with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% as accredited by the Spanish Autonomous Regions or the State Administration, or who have been declared to have a total permanent disability in a different profession through a resolution of the National Institute of Social Security, while retaining functional capacity for the completion of the tasks of the post will be positively considered. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
