This role is critical in aligning technical solutions with business objectives and production workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation and expertise in media, OTT, and digital environments. Responsibilities include designing scalable, innovative solutions, translating operational needs into technical requirements, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Additionally, the role will support AI initiatives, managing projects and coordinating with internal teams and external partners to deliver impactful, integrated solutions. /p h3Duties Responsibilities /h3 ul liAct as the primary technical liaison between internal clients and engineering teams, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions and actively contributing to their implementation. /li liDesign and propose architectures for media workflows, cloud-based tools, and production systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business goals. /li liCollaborate with the Systems Engineering Manager to deliver tools and platforms that enhance production efficiency and reliability. /li liLead technical discovery sessions and requirements gathering with stakeholders across departments, including Editorial, Archive, Data Analytics, and Software Development. /li liEngage with and support Artificial Intelligence initiatives within the TechOps area, coordinating project execution and integration with internal and external partners. /li liEvaluate and recommend technologies that align with strategic goals, including cloud platforms, automation tools, media processing systems, and AI frameworks. /li liOversee the implementation of solutions, ensuring alignment with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. /li liProvide technical documentation and training to ensure smooth adoption and operational readiness of new systems. /li liSupport the continuous improvement of existing platforms and workflows through analysis, optimisation, and innovation. /li liParticipate in vendor evaluations and integration planning for third-party systems and services. /li liEnsure compliance with security, scalability, and performance standards across all solutions. /li liPrepare and present progress reports and strategic updates on key initiatives, including AI-related projects, to upper management when required. /li /ul h3Education /h3 ul liUniversity degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Broadcasting/Technology field. /li /ul h3Skills, Requirements Qualifications /h3 ul liUniversity degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Broadcasting/Technology field. /li /ul h3Experience Technical Skills /h3 ul liMinimum of 5-8 years of experience in system engineering and/or software development in a minimum of one scripting or programming language. /li liAt least 2-3 years of experience managing vendors/ service providers. /li liExperience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. /li liPrevious working experience with cloud infrastructures (PaaS, IaaS, CaaS). /li liProject managing the designing and implementing of scalable, secure, and resilient solutions. /li liExperience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK stack). /li liKnowledge or versed in: ul liAPI design and development expertise /li liProgramming languages expertise with one or more of: e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), Ruby, PHP, C# and Go. /li liDeep understanding of RESTful services, HTTP methods, status codes and stateless communication. /li liAuthentication and authorisation techniques (OAuth, JWT). /li liData encryption and securing API endpoints against common vulnerabilities (i.e. SQL injection and XSS). /li liUnderstanding of client-server architecture. /li /ul /li /ul h3Knowledge Technical Skills /h3 ul liStrong communication skills, especially in English. /li liMedia/ broadcast/ digital environments are highly desirable. /li liStrong understanding of media asset management, transcoding workflows, and live production systems. /li liStrong understanding of cloud architecture principles and deployment strategies. /li liKnowledge of media formats, codecs, streaming protocols (e.g., HLS, DASH). /li liFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation), and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes). /li /ul h3Other Skills /h3 ul liExcellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language. /li liStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset. /li liAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. /li liWorking across cross-functional teams including engineering, editorial and operations. /li /ul h3Additional Consideration /h3 ul liCloud Architect certifications/training desirable (e.g., AWS Professional, MCSA: Cloud Platform). /li liProject Management skills and/ or certified, preferably from both traditional methodologies and modern approaches (i.e., Kanban, and Agile frameworks), with the ability to adapt
