We are seeking a highly qualified Industrial Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial process engineering, with a strong focus on bio-based process scale-up and the translation of R&D innovations into industrial production. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in process scale-up from lab to pilot and industrial scale, pilot plant operation, and industrial process optimization, ideally within enzymatic, bio-based, or industrial biotechnology environments. This person should be comfortable working at the interface of R&D, engineering, and production, with a strong commitment to operational excellence, process reliability, and data-driven decision-making. Required Qualifications • Degree in Industrial Engineering required, • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial process engineering, pilot plant operations, or scale-up of R&D processes, • Demonstrated hands-on experience in bio-based process scale-up, • Proven experience working at the interface of R&D and industrial production, • Strong practical understanding of process engineering, process optimization, and industrial deployment, • Experience in enzymatic processes, bioprocesses, or industrial biotechnology strongly preferred, and highly valued for success in this role Core Technical Competencies • Process scale-up from lab to pilot to industrial scale, • Pilot plant design, operation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, • Process optimization with a focus on yield, efficiency, robustness, and cost, • Process modeling, including mass and energy balances, • Data analysis, KPI monitoring, and process performance tracking, • Implementation of process control strategies and continuous improvement actions, • Familiarity with industrial equipment, including reactors, separation units, and downstream processing systems, • Collaboration with analytical teams for process validation and monitoring, • Preparation of technical documentation for process transfer and industrial deployment, • Compliance with industrial safety, quality, and regulatory standards Key Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate process scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and industrial scale, • Design, operate, and optimize pilot plant processes, • Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of industrial processes, • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs, • Develop, maintain, and standardize process documentation and scale-up protocols, • Collaborate closely with R&D, production, quality, and engineering teams, • Support technology transfer from development to full-scale production, • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, • Contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable technologies with real industrial impact What We Offer • Join a solid business group: INZU Group., • Full-time contract, • Flexible working hours: 8:00–16:15 (flexible entry/exit)., • On-site position in Zumaia, Gipuzkoa., • Professional development and internal training plan.
