This role focuses on the introduction of new aluminium products, lightweighting programmes, and tooling‑related capital projects while providing technical expertise in high‑speed metal forming processes. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, toolroom and supplier partners, the position drives product performance, operational excellence and continuous improvement across production facilities. /p p* This position will be posted internally for a minimum of 5 days and will remain open until filled or adjusted based on the volume of applicants. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupport and manage capital projects related to new product introductions in existing facilities and new plant builds, including cost estimation, product specifications, tooling requirements and project execution. /li liLead lightweighting initiatives for existing aluminium containers by evaluating product designs, developing tooling specifications, coordinating procurement activities and tracking project deliverables. /li liAssess the feasibility, cost and business benefits of new product developments and product optimisation opportunities to support strategic planning activities. /li liProvide technical support for aluminium product performance, process capability, tooling functionality and manufacturing operations through on‑site and remote troubleshooting. /li liAnalyse product and process data using statistical methods and quality tools, including SPC, Six Sigma methodologies and Minitab, to identify trends, drive improvements and resolve technical issues. /li liConduct product testing and validation activities using in‑process and finished goods measurement systems to ensure compliance with quality and performance specifications. /li liPartner with operational teams to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, material utilisation and overall operating performance through process and tooling enhancements. /li liSupport toolroom standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives by developing best practices, conducting audits and implementing corrective action plans. /li liDrive supplier quality and performance improvements through tooling inspections, supplier audits and ongoing supplier quality management activities. /li liDevelop and maintain technical documentation, training materials and operating procedures to support global tooling and product engineering best practices. /li liMaintain and enhance engineering development databases, systems and related documentation. /li liTravel to manufacturing facilities as required to provide hands‑on technical support, project implementation and troubleshooting assistance. /li /ul h3What are we looking for? /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. /li liMinimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD, manufacturing or a related engineering environment. /li liMinimum 2 years of experience managing engineering or manufacturing‑related projects. /li liExperience supporting manufacturing processes, tooling systems, product development or capital equipment projects. /li liProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. /li liDemonstrated ability to scope projects, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholders and deliver project objectives. /li liWorking knowledge of materials engineering, manufacturing processes and metal forming operations. /li liUnderstanding of tooling design principles, technical drawings and bill of materials management. /li liExperience using data analysis and problem‑solving methodologies including statistical tools and continuous improvement techniques. /li liStrong analytical, organisational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams. /li liWillingness to travel to regional manufacturing facilities as required. /li /ul pBall Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks.
