About the role We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our Technology Department and help strengthen quality practices within IT Sales, Alliances & Marketing BP. The role will be based at our new technology site in Alicante, Spain. Backed by more than 1,700 technologists worldwide across our key technology centres in Geneva, Madrid, Malmö, and Alicante, and powered by one of Europe’s largest IoT platforms, we are building ambitious solutions at scale. Responsibilities • Design, maintain, and improve automated testing solutions to ensure product quality and alignment with business and customer requirements., • Work closely with Product Owners, developers, and other stakeholders in an Agile environment to define acceptance criteria and quality expectations., • Develop and execute test plans and test cases across functional, regression, API, and non‑functional testing areas., • Contribute to and scale test automation using tools such as Playwright, WebdriverIO, Cucumber, Rest Assured, K6, and Jenkins., • Review requirements, specifications, and technical documentation to identify risks, define test coverage, and ensure release readiness., • Support user acceptance testing and collaborate with business and engineering teams to ensure high‑quality, timely product releases., • Act as a strong QA voice in team ceremonies and cross‑functional discussions, promoting quality‑by‑design across the delivery lifecycle., • Apply AI‑enabled approaches to improve testing efficiency and technical workflows, including the use of tools such as GitHub Copilot and other automation assistants. Candidate Profile We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to plan, develop, execute, and automate tests that ensure product quality and deliver a high‑quality user experience. As part of our team, you will work across multiple initiatives within a Scrum‑based Agile environment and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of system testing. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including Product Owners, developers, infrastructure teams, service teams, and tech leads. Key Skills • UI test automation (Playwright / WebdriverIO), • API testing (Postman), • BDD (Gherkin), • CI/CD (Jenkins / pipelines), • Performance / non‑functional (K6), • Test strategy / test design, • Quality in Agile teams, • Defect analysis / root cause thinking, • Test reporting and release readiness Essential Qualifications • 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a QA Automation Engineer or in a similar QA role., • Experience working with Agile methodologies, ideally within Scrum or Lean environments., • Solid experience with QA tools such as WebdriverIO, Cucumber, Postman, Xray, and Jira., • Strong understanding of QA best practices, test design, and release readiness., • Experience with scripting or programming languages and web technologies such as JavaScript, Java, Ruby, or Python., • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks simultaneously., • Fluency in both English and Spanish., • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in changing environments and under tight deadlines., • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with both business and technical stakeholders., • A proactive mindset, team spirit, learning agility, and a high level of organisation and professionalism., • Customer focus and a results‑oriented approach. Highly Valued Qualifications • Experience applying AI‑enabled approaches in day‑to‑day work to improve testing processes and technical tasks, including the use of automation assistants such as GitHub Copilot., • Experience working in teams that are piloting or scaling AI‑supported practices within the software development lifecycle.
