Responsibilities Hines Spain and Portugal is looking to hire a Senior Associate, depending on relevant experience, into the Acquisitions team. Ancillary responsibilities may include support the analysis and execution of on-going and new investment opportunities. The role is based in Madrid or Barcelona, reporting directly to the Director of Acquisitions. Hines Spain and Portugal started operations in 1996 in Barcelona and in 2001 in Madrid with the aim of sourcing and managing high quality investment opportunities in Madrid and Barcelona for Hines’ discretionary vehicles and other investment partners. The Spanish platform currently manages a diversified portfolio of high-quality assets located in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Porto close to €2.0B. • Acquisitions pipeline filtering, underwriting, internal approvals process and transaction execution in cooperation with Fund and Portfolio Management teams, • Asset level model underwriting, reviews, sensitivity scenario work, interpretation, and translation into internal presentations for investment discussion approvals and IC´s, • Collaborate with Fund Managers and the Hines Research group, • Devising asset-level business plans in conjunction with local Hines’s asset management, construction, finance and tax teams to maximize value and risk-adjusted returns, reacting to opportunities and threats and mitigating risks of all types, • Participate in sourcing new investment opportunities aligned with our Funds and JV partners requirements, • Support Fund Managers in the preparation of investors meetings and investors-related Fund level initiatives, • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Hines Fund Management teams and JV partners for transactions and asset management collaboration of all kinds, • General support of senior team members in decision-making and execution, • Support in asset management or divestment process if needed Qualifications Minimum Requirements include: • University degree from a high‑calibre institution, preferably in a subject area demanding high analytical aptitude, • Highly numerate with a strong skillset in representing the concepts of real estate investment accurately and efficiently in Excel form, • 5+ years’ experience in the Spanish real estate market, ideally acquired within an investment firm, a Big Four real estate advisory practice, or a leading real estate consultancy., • Demonstrable interest in Real Estate transactions in Office, Residential/Living, Retail and/or Logistics real estate as well as Alternative niches would be beneficial, • Understanding of the conceptual framework of Real Estate investment and investment management more broadly, • Strong understanding of the MS Office suite, most particularly Excel, but also PowerPoint and Word – able to produce and review detailed underwritings and well‑curated investors‑presentations, • Language skills: Spanish mother tongue preferably and excellent communication skills with confident fluency in written and spoken English, • Previous experience in either London or an English‑speaking market highly desirable, • Immediate start preferred, • Ability to relate well to other people at all levels, internally and externally.
