Querky Café is a busy, independent café known for high-quality food, strong coffee, and a fast-paced but friendly environment. We serve both in-house customers and high-volume delivery platforms (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat), so consistency and standards matter. We are looking for a skilled and dependable Line Chef who takes pride in their work, leads by example, and understands the importance of food safety and teamwork. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard, • Work efficiently during busy service periods, • Maintain strict food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times, • Wear required kitchen uniform (apron, hat, appropriate PPE) while on shift, • Support junior kitchen staff and lead by example, • Assist with prep, stock rotation, and kitchen cleanliness, • Work collaboratively with front-of-house when needed, • Contribute positively to a respectful and professional team culture What We’re Looking For Essential: • Previous experience as a line chef or similar kitchen role, • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards, • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen, • Reliability, professionalism, and a team-first attitude, • Willingness to follow kitchen standards and procedures consistently Desirable: • Experience in café or brunch-style kitchens, • Experience working with delivery platforms, • Leadership qualities or experience mentoring junior staff What We Offer • Opportunities for progression for the right candidate, • Supportive management and a stable working environment, • Staff meals and discounts, • A growing business with long-term potential
