Key Responsibilities Section Management Take full responsibility for an assigned section (grill, sauce, pastry, larder, etc.) Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the required standard Ensure smooth service on their section Preparation & Service Carry out mise en place efficiently Maintain speed, accuracy, and consistency during service Follow recipes, specs, and plating guides Quality & Standards Maintain high food quality and presentation Monitor freshness, rotation, and portion control Reduce waste and report shortages or issues Hygiene & Safety Keep section clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards Follow allergen and hygiene procedures Ensure correct storage and labelling Team Support Assist Commis Chefs and trainees on the section Communicate clearly with Sous & Head Chef Step up to support other sections when needed Skills & Qualities Strong cooking skills in their section Good organisation and time management Calm under pressure during service Team player with attention to detail Willingness to learn and develop Typical Experience Required Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Junior CDP Solid understanding of kitchen operations Food hygiene certification
