Third chef position available in a traditional Italian restaurant in Egham High Street. Preparation of vegetables and hot/cold starter dishes, assisting second chef where required. Experience as pizza chef desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities: · Plan and organize daily production schedules to meet the demands of various branches, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of curries and spices. · Oversee efficient kitchen operations by supervising staff, offering training, and providing ongoing guidance. · Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and timely delivery of products to branches. · Prepare authentic South Indian dishes with precision and adherence to traditional recipes, nutritious, and meet established quality standards. · Create and maintain a consistent flavour profile for all dishes, particularly focusing on the preparation of spices and sauces. · Collaborate with management to develop and refine recipes for curries and spice blends that meet customer preferences and market trends. · Ensure freshness of spices, produce, and other ingredients. · Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations. · Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order, reporting any issues to management. · Uphold high food quality, control portion sizes, and follow standardized recipes for consistency and minimal waste. · Maintain clear communication with management and other departments regarding production schedules, ingredient needs, and any operational challenges. · Oversee performance reviews, delegate tasks, manage inventory, reduce waste, and maintain the freshness of perishables. · Conduct taste tests, preserve authentic flavours, source premium Indian spices, herbs, and ingredients. ** Skill/experience/qualifications:** · Team player with leadership skills Strong understanding of food safety regulations · Proven experience as a South Indian Chef · Strong attention to detail, hygiene, and food safety practices.
- Previous experience as a Chef in a high-end, high-volume kitchen - Strong skills with the ability to cook meats and seafood to perfection - Production experience including preparation, portioning, and maintaining high standards - Ability to remain composed and efficient under pressure - A solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP practices - A passion for high-quality ingredients and attention to detail in presentation - A positive, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
