About Us:
The Indian Gymkhana Club, a prestigious and historic establishment, is seeking a skilled and passionate Curry Chef to join our esteemed culinary team. Our club is renowned for its authentic and delicious cuisine, offering a blend of traditional and contemporary dishes to our members and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of traditional and contemporary Indian curries and dishes
- Develop and create new curry recipes while maintaining the authenticity of Indian flavors
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
- Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring a cohesive and efficient team
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and management to plan menus and special events
- Stay updated with industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into the menu
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Curry Chef or in a similar role in a high-end or busy establishment
- In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Creativity and a passion for culinary arts
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Culinary certification or relevant training is a plus
