Registered Children's Home Manager Key Responsibilities: · Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children's home. · Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations. · Deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people. · Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing staff team. · Promote safeguarding and a therapeutic, child-centred environment. · Ensure that the home is fully prepare the home for Ofsted registration and inspections. Essential Requirements: · Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. · Significant experience in residential childcare. · Previous management or deputy management experience. · Excellent knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding. · Full UK driving licence essential. · Willingness to work shifts and weekends where requires. Responsible Individual (RI) Key Responsibilities: · Provide strategic oversight of the children's home. · Ensure regulatory compliance and high standards of governance. · Support the Registered Manager while maintaining effective quality assurance. · Promote continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children. · Liaise with Ofsted and other relevant agencies. Essential Requirements: · Extensive senior leadership experience within children's residential services. · Thorough knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards. · Strong leadership, governance, and compliance experience. · Previous RI experience is essential. They will ensure the delivery of high-quality care services in line with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. The role involves staff management, business growth, compliance, and maintaining a positive culture within the service. *Key Responsibilities:* Regulatory requirements; • Register with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) Ensure the service remains compliant with all regulations and standards., • Develop, implement and review policies and procedures that align with C.Q.C’s Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs)., • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain high standards of care., • Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed, and concerns are reported appropriately., • Keep up to date with changes in legislation and implement necessary adjustments. Regularly monitor the availability to take on more work., • Build and maintain relationships with commissioners, clients, and stakeholders., • Promote the business through networking, marketing, and community engagement., • Monitor financial performance and budget management. Set training and supervision targets for new starters. Staff Management & Leadership; • Recruit, train and manage senior team and care staff. Ensuring they meet company and regulatory standards., • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide staff supervision and support., • Develop a positive workplace culture, promoting equality, diversity, staff well-being and professional development., • Address disciplinary and grievance matters in line with company policy, on time to a satisfactory outcome. Client Care & Satisfaction; • Ensure through assessment and planning a person-centred care service is delivered., • Handle client complaints and concerns effectively, ensuring satisfactory resolutions. Working closely with other agencies when required to do so., • Conduct regular reviews and arrange spot checks are performed. Seek client feedback to improve service delivery. Essential Requirements: • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care., • Previous experience in a managerial role within a domiciliary care setting., • In-depth knowledge of C.Q.C regulations and compliance requirements., • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills., • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities., • Experience in recruitment, staff training, and development and retention. Desirable: • Leadership and Management Experience based on care sector., • In-depth knowledge of care quality regulations and compliance requirements., • Experience with inspections and audits, ensuring the service is compliant with care quality standards., • Experience managing health and safety protocols, including conducting risk assessments, and ensuring all practices align with health and safety regulations., • Experience handling difficult situations, complaints, and incident investigations, with a focus on problem resolution and quality improvement., • Experience in managing crisis situations (e.g., managing staffing shortages, medical emergencies, etc.)., • Ability to make quick decisions while keeping the best interests of clients in mind., • Ability to drive business development while maintaining care standards and compliance., • Strong communication skills to liaise with staff, families, commissioners, and regulatory bodies. Role Overview The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of workshop operations, from customer bookings and vehicle workflow management through to technician supervision, quality control, invoicing and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the workshop operates smoothly, jobs are completed efficiently, customers receive excellent service, and the business continues to grow. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle servicing and repairs, excellent organisational skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Workshop Operations & Management • Oversee daily operation of MOT, servicing and repairs., • Manage workshop workflow to ensure vehicles are booked in, progressed and completed efficiently., • Allocate jobs to technicians based on workload and deadlines., • Monitor productivity, labour efficiency and turnaround times., • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices., • Carry out final quality checks where required before vehicles are returned to customers., • Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes and customer experience. Customer Service & Relationship Management • Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the repair and servicing process., • Provide professional advice regarding vehicle maintenance, repairs and recommendations., • Communicate clearly with customers regarding diagnosis, costs, progress updates and completion times., • Handle customer queries, concerns and complaints professionally and promptly., • Build strong relationships with repeat customers and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction., • Ensure customers receive transparent explanations of work required and completed. Booking, Scheduling & Workflow Control • Manage all workshop bookings, MOT appointments, servicing schedules and repair jobs., • Plan daily and weekly workshop capacity., • Prioritise urgent repairs while maintaining efficient workflow., • Coordinate MOT slots, diagnostics, servicing and repair requirements., • Ensure customers are kept informed of appointment changes or delays. Estimates, Invoicing & Commercial Management • Prepare estimates and quotations for repairs and maintenance work., • Gain customer authorisation before additional work is carried out., • Manage job cards, invoices and payment processes., • Ensure accurate recording of parts, labour and additional charges., • Monitor workshop profitability and identify opportunities to improve revenue., • Work with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and availability of parts., • Monitor outstanding payments and support effective financial control. Health & Safety, Compliance & Standards • Ensure the workshop operates safely and complies with all relevant health and safety regulations., • Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment., • Maintain compliance with MOT standards and industry regulations., • Ensure tools, equipment and machinery are maintained and fit for purpose. Stock, Equipment & Supplier Management • Monitor workshop stock levels, consumables and commonly used parts., • Order parts and manage relationships with suppliers., • Ensure efficient use and maintenance of workshop equipment., • Manage external suppliers, recovery companies and specialist repair partners when required. Skills & Experience Required • Previous experience managing an automotive workshop., • Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, repairs and diagnostics., • Experience working with technicians and managing workshop workflow., • Excellent customer service and communication skills., • Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a busy environment., • Commercial understanding of workshop operations, labour sales and profitability., • Strong organisational and administrative skills., • Ability to use workshop management systems, booking software and invoicing systems., • Previous experience within an MOT testing environment., • MOT Tester qualification is preferred., • Experience with diagnostic equipment and modern vehicle technologies.
