Aspiring Child Psychologist - Reigate, Surrey \n Reigate - Aspiring Child Psychologist - Psychology - Learning Support Assistant - Special Needs \n Are you motivated by supporting and helping others? Are you an Aspiring Child Psychologist? \n We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support children with Special Needs, such as ASD, SEMH and associated challenging behaviours. You will be joining a friendly, energetic and creative team! \n The School: \n This school is located in Reigate and caters for children aged 3-11 with SEN needs. Children may have additional sensory impairments and additonal needs. \n The school has a Therapy Department which is staffed by qualified Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Therapists are based around the school and have a clinic room for individual work. Much therapy follows a 'blended' model of therapeutic intervention which is delivered across the curriculum, and there is close liaison with teaching staff and parents. \n As a Learning Support Assistant/Aspiring Child Psychologist, you will have the opportunity to 'get your foot in the door' and work closely with the therapists, enabling you to expand your knowledge, skillset, and gain relevant practical experience, which is invaluable for you, as an aspiring child psychologist. Also an ideal opportunity for aspiring Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists \n Professional Skills & Requirements \n\n • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students\n, • Able to plan learning activities to suit pupil ability with support from a teacher\n, • Able to encourage the development of social skills and support students' individual needs\n, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills\n, • Able to provide academic and pastoral support\n, • Experience working with young people with special needs is desirable but not essential\n, • Able to commute to Reigate\n\n Personal Qualities \n\n • Passionate about helping children to achieve their full potential\n, • Able to build confidence and motivation\n, • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students\n, • Ability to remain calm and resilient when placed in situations of stress or conflict\n, • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener\n\n 5 days a week (Mon-Fri), Reigate & £93-£105 per day - dependant on skills and experience \n Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of students \n You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship \n Candidates registering with Academics will need to have or apply for an Enhanced DBS and/or overseas police check where appropriate. \n Apply now or contact Sam Price at Academics: \n l
