Lola’s is an established independent Spanish tapas restaurant in Bournemouth with a strong local reputation, loyal customers, and a busy service. We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team.
We want a strong chef with proven experience in a professional kitchen. Experience with Spanish cooking is an advantage, but it is not essential. If you are a good chef, have solid cooking skills, work well under pressure, and are willing to learn, we can teach you our style, dishes, and way of working. This is a hands-on cooking role in a kitchen where food is prepared properly and cooked from scratch, so it would suit someone who enjoys real cooking rather than simply reheating or assembling pre-made products.
This role would suit someone who is reliable, organised, calm during service, and takes pride in consistency, quality, and attention to detail. We want someone who genuinely cares about food, has a good understanding of flavour, and treats every dish with pride. We are also interested in someone who has the capability to grow into a Head Chef role in the future.
What we are looking for
The right candidate should have good all-round chef experience, strong standards, confidence working with flavours, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen. You should be willing to learn, work as part of a team, and help maintain the quality and reputation of the restaurant. You should also be comfortable in a role that involves proper preparation and cooking from scratch.
What we offer
- Hourly pay: £13.00–£15.00 depending on experience
- Weekly hours: Around 36–40 hours
- Days off: 2 consecutive days off
- Benefits: Pension, staff food, and tips
- Tips: Usually around £250–£450 depending on the season
- Start date: As soon as possible, but notice periods can be accommodated
- Progression: Opportunity to grow into a Head Chef role.
