Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Community Role\n We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated community children's therapy team on a 3-month locum contract. \n This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled OT who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential within their everyday environments. Role Overview\n As a Community Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work with children and young people aged 0–19 years, carrying out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and providing intervention recommendations across a range of community settings. \n Your caseload will involve visiting: \n\n • Mainstream and specialist schools\n, • Community clinics\n, • Other appropriate community settings as required\n\n You will work collaboratively with families, educational staff, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. Key Responsibilities\n\n • Assess the occupational therapy needs of children and young people aged 0–19 years.\n, • Complete functional assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans and recommendations.\n, • Provide advice, strategies, and interventions to support participation in daily activities, education, and development.\n, • Produce accurate clinical documentation and reports.\n, • Liaise effectively with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals involved in the child's care.\n, • Maintain accurate patient records using the SystmOne clinical system.\nEssential Requirements\n\n, • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.\n, • Previous experience working as a Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist.\n, • Experience assessing and managing a paediatric caseload within community, school, or clinic settings.\n, • Knowledge and experience of using SystmOne.\n, • Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle, as regular travel between schools and clinics is required.\n, • Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.\nContract Details\n\n, • Position: Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist\n, • Location: Community-based (schools and clinics)\n, • Contract Length: 3 months (with potential for extension)\n, • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm\n, • Start Date: ASAP\n\n This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive community team and make a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people, and their families while enjoying a varied and rewarding caseload.
