You must hold a valid Level 2 or 3 Food Safety cert and have good barista experience in order to train new employees. You will be reporting to the directors throughout the day, place orders, create weekly rota and carry out interviews. Position Title: Barista Reports to: Store Manager/ Assistant Manager Department: Operations Job Summary: The barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer. Main Duties: - Selling and serving products to customer in a courteous and friendly manner. - Safely handling all hot and cold drinks during preparation. - Receiving all customers orders. - Making drinks using specialist equipment. - Ensuring that all customers are educated on our products and services. - Providing the highest quality standards to customers. - Answering customers questions regarding any products in the shop. - Weighting, grinding, and packing coffee's per customers order according to company's guidelines - Routinely cleaning all the shops areas (Bar lounge, dining floor, toilets, trash) - Reporting any potential threat safety hazard to Assistant Manager. - Checking all the machines regularly during the day. - Setting up the coffee shop ready for opening. - Collecting food from the kitchen area and returning dishes if needed. - Serving and cleaning lounge when needed. - Refilling products in all the shop areas. - Keeping service counters clean ad fully stocked. - Promoting customer care through all actions. - Informing Assistant Manager of low stock levels. - Ensuring that all cabinets are stocked and tidied to deliver a full service. - Using the correct handling and lifting procedures as outlined in induction training and shop manuals. - Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the shop health and safety standards. - Cooperating with other staff members. Assist with set-up and execution of monthly weekly members’ breakfast and evening drinks events. Assist the front-of-house team with the set-up and execution of catering for meeting rooms. Ensure kitchenettes within the office spaces are stocked according to the standards set by F&B management. Monitoring stock of fresh food, long life products, and consumables. Follow health & safety and food hygiene standards at all times, recording due diligence and deliveries as required. Follow opening and closing checklists and procedures. Maintain café machinery by following usage and cleaning instructions. Requirements Some specialty coffee experience required, full beginner and intermediate training can be provided at the Assembly Coffee roastery. Some food prep experience and knowledge of best practice. A will to learn and take ownership of the Uncommon café experience.
