About the role Honest Greens serves real, fresh food cooked from scratch every day, and our kitchens move fast. As a Kitchen Porter, you keep the kitchen clean, safe and running smoothly so our chefs can focus on cooking great food. You are one of the most important people in the team: without you, service doesn't happen. Key responsibilities Cleaning and dishwashing • Wash, dry and put away pots, pans, utensils, crockery and equipment throughout service, • Run and maintain the dishwasher, including daily cleaning and checking chemical levels, • Keep floors, walls, surfaces, fridges and storage areas clean in line with the cleaning schedule, • Complete opening and closing cleaning checklists Food safety and hygiene • Follow food safety, allergen and HACCP procedures at all times, • Use cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH guidance, • Separate and dispose of waste and recycling correctly, keeping bin areas clean, • Report any pests, damaged equipment or hazards to the Head Chef straight away Supporting the kitchen • Receive deliveries, check them against orders and store stock using FIFO (first in, first out), • Help with basic food prep when needed, such as washing and peeling vegetables, • Keep stations stocked with clean equipment during busy periods, • Work as part of the team and support colleagues wherever needed What we're looking for • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic, • Happy working on your feet in a fast-paced, hot environment, • Takes pride in keeping things clean and organised, • A team player with a positive attitude, • Able to follow instructions and safety procedures, • Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings, • Previous kitchen experience is a bonus but not essential: full training is provided, • Right to work in the UK
