Dry Cleaner Manager / Operator — Wallingford
We are in the process of purchasing a dry cleaning business in Wallingford, Oxfordshire and are seeking a hands-on Manager/Operator to run the business day-to-day. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and oversee all dry cleaning, laundry, washing, and pressing services
- Manage the front counter: assist customers, process orders, handle payments, and answer inquiries
- Maintain quality control to ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage daily sales, cash handling, and basic bookkeeping
- Coordinate with outsourced tailoring services and ensure timely completion of tailoring orders
- Maintain inventory of supplies and order as needed
- Oversee equipment operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the facility
- Build strong relationships with customers to foster repeat business and referrals
- Work closely with ownership on business growth, customer service, and operational improvements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in dry cleaning
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to operate dry cleaning, laundry, and pressing equipment
- Basic financial and organizational skills to manage daily operations
- Experience coordinating or managing outsourced services is a plus
