Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team in a busy MOT and repair garage. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and diagnosing faults on a variety of vehicles. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Mechanic will work in a fast paced environment and must be able to work independently as well as being a great team player.
Duties
Diagnose faults and determine the appropriate course of action for repair.
Perform repairs on a variety of vehicles and or machinery, including oil changes, break repairs, repair of faulty components.
Collaborate with other technicians and departments to resolve complex issues.
Conduct routine maintenance checks to prevent future malfunctions.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with line manager regarding repair status and recommendations.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
Familiarity with electronic components and mechanical systems is advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
Level 2/3 and experience is preferred.
