Streetfood stall manager
Payment: (15-20£) or profit % percentage depending on experience.
Days: 3 days a week
Baytna is looking for an experienced and reliable Stall Manager to manage our Syrian burger street-food stall across all KERB markets in London.
This is a role combining street-food operations, food preparation, team management, stock and supplier management, driving and food safety.
Our markets vary from week to week but will rotate between 4 locations: cow cross yards in farringdon, fleet place in Blackfriars gherkin in central and Francis road in Leyton.
The Stall Manager will also assess which locations perform best and support decisions on where the business should trade.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operation of our Syrian burger street-food stall.
- Drive the company van from our base in Leyton (E10) to KERB markets across London, set up the stall and equipment, and return the van after service.
- Prepare burgers and other ingredients ahead of market days. (Paid prep day)
- Purchase and maintain sufficient ingredients and stock using Baytna's approved supplier list and company card.
- Manage the stall during busy services and ensure food is prepared and served quickly and consistently.
- Lead and support stall staff, including team members from refugee and diverse backgrounds.
- Maintain all required food hygiene, health & safety and operational documentation.
- Safely operate stall equipment, including connecting gas canisters and understanding correct fire-extinguisher procedures.
- Monitor different KERB market locations and provide feedback on which markets are most suitable and commercially successful.
- Help maintain the company van and arrange fuel and necessary vehicle expenses using the company card.
- Support additional paid Baytna work where available, including private events, catering and supper clubs.
Requirements:
- Advanced English language
- Level 3 Food Hygiene & Safety certification.
- Full valid driving licence and confidence driving an automatic medium size company van in London.
- Previous experience in street food, catering, commercial kitchens, food stalls or a similar fast-paced food service environment.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Confident managing food preparation, stock and service independently.
- Able to safely work with gas-powered catering equipment.
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable taking responsibility for the full operation of a stall.
- Willing to complete a DBS check.
Desirable:
- Someone living in East London or can easily get to Leyton
- First Aid qualification.
- Health & Safety qualification.
- Previous experience managing a street-food stall, food festivals

We are looking for someone who can take real ownership of the stall from preparation and setup through to service, safety and pack down while helping us grow Baytna's Syrian street-food business across London and help young refugees in London.
