Our client is an Italian restaurant located in Kentish Town. They're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to help in the starter station. Working hours: 50hrs/week Restaurant Kitchen Opening Hours Monday-Saturday 12:00pm – 10:15pm Duties: Run the starters section. Ensure adequacy of supplies always. Place orders promptly. Manage ingredients that should be available on a daily basis. Follow the directions of the head chef and sous chef.
Create and prepare pasta dishes according to the restaurant's menu. Inspect and ensure the quality of ingredients used in the pasta dishes. Develop new pasta dishes and suggest menu improvements. Monitor food stock levels and place orders when necessary. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to safety and hygiene regulations.
Our client is looking for a cook for their establishment in Andover. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, efficient, willing to learn and work in a culturally diverse environment. They're a unique takeaway/restaurant doing traditional British takeaways in wraps, burgers, wings, however with a Caribbean twist. They use Caribbean style and herbs to create their unique flavour and products. They also offer the Traditional Rice n Peas and Mac n cheese, which are staples of the Caribbean cuisine. They currently have two locations, Tidworth and Andover with a third coming soon. The style of cooking is mostly street-food styled done in a relaxed atmosphere. Style of dress is uniformed and comfortable as it can get hot in the kitchen. Meals in the Tidworth location are made in an open kitchen, much to the customer's delight. It's a fast growing brand and would be a great opportunity for any one who wants to join. Their staff is multicultural and allows for ease of integration with new candidates. In addition to in-house training, candidates if employed on a full-time contract will be offered educational and personal and professional development courses. This will be subsidised by the company and candidates will be given sufficient time to complete courses. Candidates are offered a minimum of 40h/pw at a starting rate of £13ph however this rate should increase as the candidate gains experience and value within the company.
The Head Chef supervises the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage the kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. A minimum of 5 years experience as a Head Chef is required. Working hours: Tues-Sunday 10AM-2PM and 5PM-10PM (Split Shifts with break between 2PM and 5PM) Responsibilities: Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders and quality check Supervise food prep and cooking Check food plating and temperature and quality freshness Establish portion sizes Schedule kitchen staff shifts Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, under supervision Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators) Keep weekly and monthly cost reports Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area Requirements and skills: Excellent organisational skills Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
