Commis Chef

Our client is an Italian restaurant located in Kentish Town. They're looking for a Chef De Partie to run the starter station. Working hours: 50hrs/week Restaurant Kitchen Opening Hours Monday-Saturday 12:00pm – 10:15pm Duties: Run the starters section. Ensure adequacy of supplies always. Place orders promptly. Manage ingredients that should be available on a daily basis. Follow the directions of the head chef and sous chef.

The Head Chef supervises the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage the kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. A minimum of 5 years experience as a Head Chef is required. Working hours: Tues-Sunday 10AM-2PM and 5PM-10PM (Split Shifts with break between 2PM and 5PM) Responsibilities: Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders and quality check Supervise food prep and cooking Check food plating and temperature and quality freshness Establish portion sizes Schedule kitchen staff shifts Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, under supervision Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators) Keep weekly and monthly cost reports Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area Requirements and skills: Excellent organisational skills Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
