Role Overview As a Data Engineering Intern at WillHire you will support our data and infrastructure teams in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools, cloud platforms, and big data ecosystems while working in a fast-growing HR-tech environment. Key Responsibilities • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data., • Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility., • Support integration of APIs and third-party data sources into the data ecosystem., • Help optimize data storage, transformation, and retrieval for performance and scalability., • Contribute to data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring frameworks., • Assist in developing dashboards and reports for business and product stakeholders., • Research new tools, frameworks, and best practices in data engineering & analytics. Requirements • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) B.Tech/BE/M.Tech/MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related fields., • Strong understanding of databases, SQL, and data modeling concepts., • Familiarity with Python/Java/Scala for data processing., • Basic knowledge of data warehousing, ETL concepts, and data pipelines., • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and their data services., • Critical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive learning mindset. Nice to Have (Bonus) • Certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, Google Cloud Data Engineer, or Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (even if in-progress)., • Experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka., • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker)., • Hands-on experience in API integrations, streaming data, or real-time processing., • Participation in data hackathons, Kaggle competitions, or open-source data projects. This competitive role is unpaid as you will be given direct access to building your network within the legal space, at the highest level. You will have the chance to connect with trainees, associates and partners working in major global firms in their offices across Europe. You will be required to simply lead a 15-minute conversation over the phone with our global lawyers, giving them a score and some written feedback after each call. About You For this internship, we are looking for bright, talkative law students who are interested in developing an effective professional strategy for their legal careers. We usually look to rotate coaches once they have reached around 100 calls within 10 months. This would require at least 2hrs commitment per week. What is involved on a day to day basis? Very little is required from you after you input your availability into the app. Calls will only be assigned to you according to this availability.
