Operator Permanent Fantastic salary and benefits The Field Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems used in gas production, processing, transmission, and distribution facilities. The technician ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment across gas facilities, including compressors, pipelines, metering stations, and processing plants., • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instruments such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature sensors, and control valves., • Calibrate and test instrumentation systems to ensure accuracy and reliability., • Troubleshoot electrical faults and instrumentation issues in field equipment and control systems., • Assist in commissioning new equipment, control systems, and plant modifications., • Interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and technical documentation., • Maintain and repair PLC, SCADA, and control systems related to gas operations., • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, hazardous area regulations, and permit-to-work systems., • Document maintenance activities, calibration records, and equipment performance reports., • Support emergency breakdown response and minimize operational downtime., • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and instrumentation., • Experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS, and control systems., • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits, transmitters, analyzers, and control loops., • Understanding of hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx)., • Familiarity with gas process equipment and metering systems., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics., • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills., • Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field., • Technical certification in Instrumentation or Electrical Maintenance (preferred)., • Typically 3–5+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within the oil & gas, gas processing, or energy sector., • Field-based role involving outdoor work at gas facilities and remote locations., • May require shift work, standby duty, and emergency call-outs., • Must follow strict health, safety, and environmental regulations.
