Technical Architect Role at Award Winning Practice | Hybrid Working | Private Healthcare & More | London About the Role An established London-based design studio is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Architect to join its growing team. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to complex and high-profile projects within a supportive, design-led environment. Working closely with project leaders and multidisciplinary teams, the successful candidate will help deliver technically robust, innovative, and buildable design solutions across a range of sectors. Key Responsibilities • Collaborates with project leads to assess design feasibility, environmental factors, and regulatory compliance, • Supports the preparation and coordination of planning and statutory submissions, • Identifies necessary pre-construction surveys and ensures that findings are integrated into the design process, • Produces and develops detailed technical and design information using Revit and other digital tools, maintaining accuracy and consistency across all project stages, • Provides informed advice on contracts, procurement routes, and delivery strategies, • Develops technical specifications for materials, assemblies, and construction systems, • Undertakes design risk assessments and contributes to project health and safety planning, • Reviews building performance post-completion and assists in developing maintenance and retrofit strategies, • Promotes sustainable approaches to refurbishment, reuse, and deconstruction within the design process Skills and Experience • ARB-registered Architect or qualified Architectural Technologist with proven technical design experience, • Strong background in producing precise and comprehensive technical documentation., • Proficient in Revit, with an understanding of BIM workflows; additional skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp are advantageous, • In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, construction detailing, and procurement processes, • Previous experience within complex sectors such as aviation, commercial, or infrastructure is beneficial, • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with confidence when working with clients, consultants, and contractors Personal Qualities • Passionate about the technical stages of architectural design and delivery, • Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong team ethic, • Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, • Ambitious, reliable, and eager to take on new challenges and responsibilities, • Committed to sustainable and environmentally responsible design practices What the Studio Offers • Competitive base salary, • 35 hour work week, • Flexible working, • 23 days holidays increasing to 26 after 3 years of service, • Christmas closure, • Pension contribution, • Private healthcare, • Life assurance, • Enhanced parental options, • Cycle to work schemes, • Interest free travel loans, • The opportunity to work on a wide range of UK and international projects, • A culture that encourages learning, mentoring, and ongoing professional development, • Clear progression pathways and leadership opportunities Professionals who are passionate about the technical delivery of architecture and seeking to advance their career within a dynamic, forward-thinking studio are encouraged to apply.
