Join us as an Engineering Manager at our Shoeburyness site, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.The RoleAs an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to the Group Lead providing the overall engineering control of equipment at the Environmental Test Centre Shoeburyness being an active member of the Environmental Test Centre operating team delivering safe and compliance facilitates.Day-to-day, you’ll have a number of different key accountabilities with an overall oversight of the engineering control of equipment in an interesting, fast paced and dynamic environment within our Shoeburyness site.Your responsibilities will includeLeading the engineering management and lifecycle support of critical equipment and facilities, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective operations aligned with business objectivesDeveloping, maintaining and reviewing Through Life Support Strategies (TLSS), asset baselines, certifications and change control processes for business and safety-critical systemsEnsuring compliance with engineering, quality, safety and regulatory standards, maintaining risk assessments, statutory inspections and technical documentationManaging maintenance planning, delivery and budgets to maximise equipment availability, reliability and operational performanceProviding leadership, technical guidance and support to engineering teams, contributing to project delivery, design reviews, hazardous activities and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborating with internal and external stakeholders to manage engineering risks, assurance activities, contractor controls and business continuity requirements, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Environmental Test CentreEssential experience of the Engineering Manager: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering technical background with relevant industry experienceProven experience leading engineering teams within a regulated, safety-critical, or high-risk environmentStrong focus on health, safety, and operational excellenceExperience driving continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives Professional engineering membership or relevant safety qualifications would be advantageousEssential qualifications for the Engineering Manager:Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems.
