SITE ENGINEERING MANAGER\n\nJob Title: Site Engineering Manager\nLocation: Aspatria, Cumbria\nSalary: £71,000 (DOE) + £12,500 Relocation Package\nShift: Days (8:00am – 4:00pm)\n\nJob Role of the Site Engineering Manager\n\nA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking and influential Site Engineering Manager to join First Milk Cheese Company, one of the UK’s leading dairy cooperatives, at their flagship Cumbria site.\n\nThis is a key leadership role within a highly invested, project-driven manufacturing environment, offering the chance to shape engineering strategy, drive continuous improvement, and lead a well-established engineering team. The business is undergoing significant capital investment (£80m–£100m planned), making this an exciting time to join and make a real impact.\n\nReporting directly to the Site Director, you will be responsible for managing and developing the site engineering function, ensuring optimal performance of people, plant, and processes, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.\n\nSector – Factory Maintenance / Food Manufacturing\n\nNon-Negotiable Requirements of the Site Engineering Manager\n\nProven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.\n\nStrong background in mechanical or electrical engineering.\n\nExperience managing engineering teams, including senior engineers.\n\nDemonstrated ability to drive performance, culture, and continuous improvement.\n\nExperience managing budgets, KPIs, and engineering performance.\n\nRequirements for the Site Engineering Manager\n\nEngineering qualification (HNC or above).\n\nExperience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food, dairy, or similar highly regulated industry preferred).\n\nStrong people management, coaching, and mentoring ability.\n\nExperience with CAPEX projects and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nKnowledge of compliance, health & safety, and environmental standards.\n\nDesirable Requirements for the Site Engineering Manager\n\nExperience within the dairy or food manufacturing sector.\n\nNEBOSH qualification (or willingness to develop).\n\nIOSH qualified.\n\nExperience in highly regulated industries such as pharma, chemical, or FMCG.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead, manage, and develop the site engineering team including senior engineers, shift engineers, and apprentices.\n\nDrive a positive engineering culture focused on performance, accountability, and development.\n\nManage all engineering activities including maintenance, projects, and continuous improvement.\n\nOversee CAPEX projects and support long-term investment strategy.\n\nEnsure compliance with all health & safety, environmental, and food safety standards.\n\nManage engineering budgets, PPM systems, and asset performance.\n\nWork closely with senior leadership to deliver site KPIs and operational excellence.\n\nThe Site Engineering Manager will benefit from:\n\nWorking for a well-established and growing organisation within the dairy sector.\n\nSignificant investment and long-term project exposure.\n\nCompetitive salary with relocation package available.\n\nStrong benefits package including bonus, pension, private healthcare, and more.\n\nClear opportunity to make a strategic impact and develop further within the business.\n\nIf you are interested in this role and feel that you have the right skills, then please click apply at the bottom of this advert.\n\nFor further details contact Lewis Wall at Pioneer Selection.\n\nAs a registered candidate with Pioneer Selection Ltd, you automatically become eligible for our referral scheme.\n\nYou will receive £250 for every candidate we place in permanent employment who has been recommended by you.
