Currently Hiring a Full Time Law Cost Draftsman Fully remote working The Costs Team provides a service to our fee earners who deal with recovery of costs in Housing Disrepair claims, their primary aim is dealing with the preparation of bills of costs, negotiation and advocacy within the detailed assessment of costs proceedings. Your Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ambitious individual to join a growing national team. You’ll be involved in the preparation of Bills of Costs for Detailed/Provisional Assessment as well as litigation of bills through the Court process. You may be involved in advocacy at Court if required and you may also be required to prepare Part 8 and enforcement proceedings Ideally you’ll have minimum one year experience working either in house or for an external supplier of costs drafting services. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Official Injury Claims Portal team in Blackburn. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about the work they do, the service they provide and getting the best results for their clients. As Legal Assistant on the OIC Portal team you will be progressing disputed claims through the Official Injury Claim portal in an accurate and efficient manner. You will be working individually with high attention to detail but also as part of the team. The team is currently broken down between Liability Admitted cases and Liability Disputed cases. On a daily basis you will be dealing with quantum and liability dispute cases, which are unable to be settled at Stage 2 in the OIC Portal. You will be required to either negotiate settlement or failing that, issue proceedings within the OIC Portal for the Court to determine liability or quantum at a final hearing. Responsibilities: Managing a caseload of litigated and pre-litigated Clinical Negligence files, both straightforward and complex Conduct relevant investigations in order to repudiate and/or conclude the claim. Undertaking Court Telephone Hearings Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems Correspondence and telephone calls Reviewing files Being part of the support for junior staff Personal Specification: Qualified Solicitor or high level experience in Fee Earning. 3+ years PQE in managing a medical/clinical negligence caseload Confident in litigating matters from start to Finish. Excellent customer care skills. Hard working and able to work from own initiative with minimal supervision. Keen Commercial awareness.
