As an Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicles. You must be comfortable using Diagnostic computer software and have extensive knowledge of vehicle systems. You are responsible to have your own hand tools, as most experienced do. Three shifts are available at the Brooklyn Navy Yard: • Night shift, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM, • Morning shift, 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM, • Swing shift, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Duties & Responsibilities: • Accept tasks from the Engineering Supervisor and plans/implements execution., • Successfully and safely perform all diesel engine maintenance onboard vessels up to, and including, engine overhauls, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance work., • Ensure all aspects of safety during task execution., • Issue company power tools to technicians to accomplish designated tasks.
