About the Role The Lead Teacher provides instructional leadership and a nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom aligned to NYC DOE early childhood standards. Key Duties Plan and deliver daily lessons aligned to UPK/3K frameworks; differentiate for individual needs. Create a warm, culturally responsive classroom; maintain routines, visuals, centers, and materials. Observe, document, and assess children’s progress; maintain portfolios and progress reports. Collaborate with Assistant Teacher/Helper; model best practices and delegate tasks effectively. Communicate regularly with families; lead conferences, newsletters, and classroom updates. Ensure health, safety, and supervision at all times; adhere to DOE/DOH policies. Participate in monthly staff development; implement feedback and program initiatives. Support referrals and in-class services for children receiving special education/related services.

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for, but not limited to:  Teaching and monitoring children’s development  Helping to create a fun learning environment that children will positively respond to  Partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at the school  Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents/families/caregivers  Develop structured and developmentally appropriate lesson plans, catering to the intellectual and emotional needs of all children  Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child  Deliver reports on potential concerns about students Education Director and/ or administrative team as needed  Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including free play, bathroom breaks, meal times, and rest time for students  Adhere to all health and safety policies  The successful candidate will work closely with the Director’s to ensure that the program provides education, physical health, emotional well-being, and parental involvement to all enrolled students If you are passionate and enthusiastic about working with children and have previous experience in an Early Childhood learning environment, please apply today!

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. Experience working with children in various educational settings, including daycare, preschool, or private schools. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with Montessori methods or other alternative teaching philosophies is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to diverse learners. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independent initiative. Prior experience in tutoring or teaching physical education is advantageous. Position Summary We are seeking passionate, responsible, and energetic instructors to join our team. After-School Program Instructors will lead academic support, enrichment activities, and recreation for small groups of students. The ideal candidate loves working with children, is organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with students in a safe and supportive manner Lead homework help and tutoring sessions Facilitate enrichment activities such as arts & crafts, STEM, literacy, games, and team-building Maintain classroom behavior and routines Communicate regularly with the program director and parents as needed Set up and clean up activities and materials Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in education or child development preferred) Experience working with school-aged children (K–8) Strong communication and classroom management skills Must be dependable, punctual, and professional CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Background check required
