Role Overview Food52 is looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic Test Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary production and content team. This role sits at the center of our kitchen operations—ensuring shoots run smoothly, ingredients are ready, and the kitchen stays organized and functional. The ideal candidate is passionate about food media, comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, and excited to occasionally step in front of the camera. Key Responsibilities • Assist with recipe prep and ingredient preparation for video shoots and editorial projects, • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the test kitchen, including dishwashing and equipment upkeep, • Shop for ingredients and supplies, including grocery runs and specialty sourcing, • Prepare ingredients and equipment for video shoots and content production, • Maintain and organize kitchen equipment, tools, and pantry inventory, • Assist culinary talent during shoots and demonstrations, • Help with setup for recurring series such as Come and Get It, • Occasionally appear on camera in supporting roles when needed Qualifications • 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, test kitchen, or food media environment, • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, • Ability to multitask across kitchen prep and production needs, • Passion for food, cooking, and storytelling Nice to Have • Culinary school training or professional kitchen experience, • On-camera comfort or food styling experience, • Familiarity with food media or recipe testing workflows Schedule Hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week in our office in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, but subject to change on a week to week basis depending on the needs of the business. Salary Range $55,000 - 57,000 The range provided is based on what we reasonably expect to pay for this job as of the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, job-related knowledge, skills, geographical location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Our client, a rapidly growing NYC-based company in the beverage industry, is seeking a hands-on Sr. Designer to produce high-quality assets for digital and retail channels, support urgent brand needs, and collaborate with internal teams and external freelancers. This role is a mix of production, conceptual design, content creation, and light operations/project coordination. 4 days onsite and 1 work from home day weekly. Applicants who do not submit a digital portfolio will not be considered. Responsibilities • Create, iterate on, and deliver design assets for digital (web, social) and physical/retail (merchandising, in-store displays, POS) channels, • Develop clear, usable content for different audiences and mediums (staff training cards, sales decks, event collateral), • Rapidly respond to time-sensitive requests (press hits, sales pitches, merchandising opportunities) and pivot priorities as urgent business needs arise, • Coordinate and manage freelance designers and external vendors to deliver projects on time, • Work from briefs and monday.com (or equivalent) project boards; partner with brand managers, sales, and other internal stakeholders to prioritize work, • Translate concepts into production-ready files suitable for each distribution channel and format, • Communicate confidently with internal stakeholders; escalate/manage capacity and timelines proactively, • Assist with light operational tasks (tracking project budgets, scheduling, handoffs) as needed Qualifications • 7+ years of professional design experience post-graduation, • Proven portfolio showing digital and physical/retail design, content-driven work, and examples of translating work across channels, • Strong content skills: information design, copy, content flow for different formats, • Experience coordinating or working with freelance designers and external vendors, • Comfortable with fast-paced, small-to-mid sized team environment and direct cross-functional communication, • Bonus: experience or interest in beverage industry (useful but not required) Required Skills • Excellent visual and content design sensibility; pragmatic approach to design-for-production, • Ability to update websites using WordPress - Must have!, • Strong communicator; confident presenting work to non-design stakeholders and able to manage up, • Ability to prioritize, pivot quickly, and keep stakeholders informed, • Organized, familiar with project management tools (e.g., monday.com) and basic budgeting/tracking concepts
