Position Overview:
We are seeking a visionary Executive Chef who is passionate about food, music, and culture to lead our kitchen team. You will be responsible for executing and adding to an innovative menu that blends food with global fusion flavors. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the culinary direction of a new restaurant set to open in mid-November '24. Your creativity in combining bold, unexpected ingredients and your attention to presentation will set the tone for our lively dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both traditional and contemporary cooking techniques, with a passion for merging culture, music, and food.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise on existing menu inspired by street food and international fusion flavors (e.g., Caribbean, Southern, Asian).
Develop new signature dishes named after hip hop tracks, albums, or artists, aligning with the restaurant’s unique concept.
Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver high-quality, consistent dishes that match the dynamic energy of the restaurant.
Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, cost control, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Collaborate with the management team to ensure the menu aligns with the restaurant’s vision and brand identity.
Stay up-to-date with food trends, culinary techniques, and music culture to continuously innovate the menu.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-energy, upscale dining environment.
Strong knowledge of global fusion flavors, particularly Caribbean, Southern, and Asian cuisines.
Creative culinary skills with a passion for street food concepts and cultural fusion.
Ability to lead and manage a diverse kitchen team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Passion for hip hop culture and incorporating that passion into food and dining experiences.
