As a Line & Prep Cook, you are the heart of our kitchen operations. This hybrid role is perfect for someone who loves both the art of preparation and the fast-paced action of a busy service line. You will be responsible for crafting our signature marinades, building our iconic shawarma spits, and preparing all our fresh ingredients. During service, you'll be on the front line, expertly shaving meat, grilling, and assembling delicious wraps and bowls for our customers. Line Cook prepares food using recipes and menu items created by the Head Chef and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly. The restaurant is vegan so all foods and preparation utilizes vegan foods and oils. Key duties and responsibilities include: - Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations - Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks - Plating prepared foods based on senior chef’s guidance - Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time - Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts - Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations Requirements: - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Aptitude for multi-tasking. - Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team. - Ability to stand or walk for at least 6-hour shifts and lift at least 50 pounds. Maintains a clear dish station including but not limited to chemicals, janitorial supplies, and health department standards and assists with deep cleaning schedule. Supports the team (Hospitality and Kitchen) whenever needed (e.g, call-outs, catering, etc.) Has intimate knowledge of Department of Health standards and uses them as a guide to keep kitchen spaces tidy, and to holds the team accountable.
