Maintaining collaborative and professional relationships with colleagues Mentoring Assistant teachers Participating in professional development meetings Showing professionalism including integrity, ethical conduct, and decision making The candidate will be reflective, ask questions, be willing to take risks and make mistakes Working in full partnership with the director, admin team, cross school collaborations Requirements: MA in Early Childhood/ Elementary Education | New York State N-6 or PreK-6 certification or study plan Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to craft narrative observations and assessments, written reflections, and communicate with families and colleagues regularly via email and phone Ability to use Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, and other online learning platforms as required Minimum 3 years of professional teaching experience in an early childhood setting preferred Strong oral communication with children, families, and colleagues

JOB DESCRIPTION: POSITION: PRE-SCHOOL GROUP TEACHER (Certified) POSITION: SALARY REPORTS TO: Sr. Education Director POSITION SUMMARY The Pre-School Group Teacher at Hostos Children’s Center, Inc. implements instructional activities to prepare children for school readiness. The Pre-School Group Teacher chiefly creates the learning environment inside of their classroom and implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum in his/her classroom. The Pre-School Group Teacher delivers instruction, provides childcare support to aid in the holistic oversight and development of children. The Pre-School Group Teacher will design a learning environment in their pre-school classroom in concert with classroom teaching team. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Collaborates with teaching team and assigned assistant teacher (s) to ensure the classroom environment meets ECERS standards.  Team teaches and cross collaborates with other teachers and staff.  Creates policies in their classroom/learning spaces which creates the learning environment, encompassing classroom management, and arranging for needed resources to produce desired learning outcomes.  Produces developmentally appropriate lesson plans utilizing the Creative Curriculum.  Completes ongoing assessment of children through TSG and ASQ assessment tools.  Showcases children’s work and progress in displays and individualized portfolios.  Actively maintains children’s records including attendance, health logs and incident reports, documentation of daily activities, skill development and anecdotal notes.  Communicates with parents/guardians the progress of their child’s development.  Actively supervises children during program activities which include, but is not limited to field trips, breakfast, lunch, nap, snack, indoor and outdoor events.  Reports to supervisor any signs or symptoms of suspected child abuse and/or neglect, injuries, or illness.  Completes daily heath/wellness checks of children at arrival and dismissal and completes required screenings form. 3/21/2023  Adheres to safety and evacuation plans to escort children to safety in the case of drills and emergency situations.  Participates in Hostos Children’s Center parent outreach initiatives. REQUIREMENTS  Must be NYS certified in B-2 or N-6.  Complies with all DOHMH requirements and other agency requirements necessary for the operation of the Center.  Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth.  Must be comfortable with learning new software, utilizing email, and other technology, as necessary.

Description Position Overview: The Life Coach at Lee Goodwin Residence provides comprehensive case management, outreach, and counseling to the residents at our supportive housing facility for young adults aging out of foster care between the ages of 18-28 year olds. The Life Skills Coach will provide referrals to: education and career programs such as: HSE, Vocational Training, Employment, and Internships. As well as: Substance Abuse Treatment, and Mental Health Services. Salary: $48,000 to $52,000 (base salary commensurate with education, training and related work experience) Responsibilities: • Conduct a comprehensive intake assessment for all new residents and review the agency’s policies and procedures with them. Develop treatment plan for all residents. Monitor clients’ emotional, social and physical well-being, as well as their progress • Maintain concise and accurate resident files in Salesforce database • Monitor residents’ medication • Provide residents with necessary referrals, including emergencies such as hospitalization, detox, etc. Inform residents about on- site, agency and community resources that are available to them. • Participate in case conferences, staff meetings and training sessions and represent the agency at assigned meetings and conferences. • Input data in Salesforce data base daily for all of the residents. • Attend professional development trainings, supervision meetings, case conferences, and staff meetings. • Provide monthly statistical reports on time and accurately. • Work cooperatively with staff at all levels to ensure quality service provision and the development and improvement of team performance. • Assist residents in the planning, prioritizing and long-term goals and short-term goals. • Maintain and oversee documentation of case files for compliance with regulatory agency.
