Role and Responsibilities As a member of Citarella’s Seafood Team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining deep knowledge of our premium seafood offerings. This position requires pride in product presentation, attention to safety and sanitation standards, and a strong sense of teamwork. You will be responsible for merchandising, product rotation, waste monitoring, and engaging with guests to provide an outstanding shopping experience. • Provide exceptional guest service to drive sales and ensure satisfaction., • Use suggestive selling techniques to promote seafood products., • Receive, unload, and break down deliveries; stock and rotate merchandise., • Ensure all items meet Citarella’s high-quality standards before display., • Prepare seafood items, including cleaning and cooking shrimp and lobster., • Maintain and restock displays while ensuring proper rotation and facing of products., • Apply basic knife skills to prepare seafood as needed., • Adhere to all Department of Health (DOH), Department of Agriculture (DOA), and OSHA safety and sanitation standards., • Use and manage cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety protocols., • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and management., • Maintain a professional, respectful, and guest-facing demeanor at all times., • Complete all assigned duties as directed by the management team. Responsibilities & Duties: • Help department to maximize sales by providing exceptional guest service., • Ability to increase sales by suggestively selling products to every guest., • Unload products from truck, break down pallets, take in deliveries, and separate produce for sales floor, and cooler., • Process and/or wraps produce items prior to filling displays., • Basic knife skills., • Responsible for product rotation, facing, restocking, culling, product displays., • Adhere to all DOH, DOA and OSHA standards. How to Apply The role We're looking for a full-time Retail Associate to join us at the Element Brooklyn Gallery of Scent in the South Street Seaport. The space is part refillery, part scent museum, part candle workshop – there's nothing else quite like it in the city. This is a full-time role, Wednesday through Sunday, 11am–7pm. We're looking to fill it as soon as possible. Although the Gallery is a limited run (through the end of the year), we expect to open another retail location and this role will transition there – it can also transition for the right candidate to a role at our Bushwick warehouse.
