Required Qualifications: • One years’ recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN, • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations, • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC), • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) CertificationPreferred Qualifications:, • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification, • STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC), • Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns, • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques, • Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients, • Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn, • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care, • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care, • Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols, • Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record, • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes, • Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results, • Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures, • Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care, • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursingRequired Essential Skills:, • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills, • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language, • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills, • Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend, • Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism, • Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment, • Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure.
