Job Title: Sushi Helper / Kitchen Assistant Job Type: Part Time Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor Job Summary: We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Sushi Helper / Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in preparing high-quality sushi dishes and maintaining an organized, hygienic kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities: * Assist sushi chefs in preparing ingredients such as cutting vegetables, slicing fish, and making rice. * Help with assembling basic sushi rolls, nigiri, and other menu items under supervision. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment. * Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and other ingredients as needed. * Ensure food preparation areas comply with hygiene and food safety standards. * Receive, unpack, and store food supplies and ingredients properly. * Dispose of kitchen waste and assist in cleaning duties. * Follow instructions from chefs and kitchen supervisors promptly. * Perform other kitchen duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment preferred, but not required. * Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety practices. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. * Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Physically fit to stand for long periods and lift moderate loads. Working Conditions: * Busy kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and sharp tools. * Shifts may include weekends, evenings, and holidays
