We are seeking a caring, responsible, and experienced Preschool Head Teacher to lead a classroom of young children ages 2-3 and 3-5 in a nurturing Montessori environment. The Head Teacher will create a prepared, respectful, and engaging classroom that encourages children’s independence, curiosity, and love of learning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a Montessori preschool classroom for children ages 2 and age 4-5.
  • Prepare and maintain an organized, inviting, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment.
  • Plan and provide Montessori-based lessons and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Introduce and demonstrate Montessori materials appropriately based on each child’s developmental needs.
  • Observe children and support their individual interests, abilities, and learning pace.
  • Encourage independence, concentration, self-discipline, and practical life skills.
  • Maintain consistent classroom routines, expectations, and positive behavior guidance.
  • Ensure the classroom is safe, clean, orderly, and well-prepared for learning.
  • Work closely with the assistant teacher and school administration.
  • Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and families.
  • Document children’s developmental progress and classroom observations.
  • Follow school policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements.

    Position Overview South Bronx Charter School for International Cultures & the Arts (SBCSICA) is seeking an innovative, student-centered Middle School Robotics Teacher who believes every student deserves access to high-quality STEM education. The ideal candidate will inspire students through hands-on learning in robotics, engineering, coding, automation, and real-world problem-solving while preparing them for high school STEM pathways, robotics competitions, and future careers in technology. In alignment with Portrait of a Graduate, the Robotics Teacher will develop students who are critical thinkers, creative innovators, effective communicators, collaborative leaders, adaptable problem-solvers, and responsible digital citizens. Through authentic, project-based learning, students will build the technical knowledge and durable skills needed to thrive in high school, college, careers, and an ever-evolving global workforce. The teacher will prepare students for SBCSICA's High School CTE Pathways by providing the foundational knowledge and technical skills needed for advanced coursework in Aviation, Robotics, Engineering, Coding, and other STEM-related fields, while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a passion for innovation.
