Job Description We are currently hiring for 3 open positions within a hospital food service environment in Montclair, NJ (07042). All roles support daily kitchen and food service operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting and require candidates to meet hospital compliance and safety standards. The available positions are: • Food Service Worker, • Cook II (Experienced Cook), • Utility Worker (Dishwasher / Sanitation Candidates must be eligible to work in a hospital/healthcare setting and complete the following screenings: • TB Blood Test or TB Skin Test, • Proof of 2 MMR Immunizations (or titer), • Proof of 2 Varicella Immunizations (or titer) Food Service Worker Pay Rate: $18.54/hr Hours: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM Location: NJ 07042 Type: Contract to Hire Job Summary: Supports daily hospital food service operations, including food prep, serving, stocking, cleaning, and customer service in a cafeteria or kitchen environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare and serve food in the cafeteria or service areas, • Assist with food prep (cutting, washing, assembling ingredients), • Stock and replenish food and supplies, • Clean and sanitize kitchen and service areas, • Follow food safety and HACCP standards, • Provide customer service in a fast-paced environment Requirements: • 1+ year food service or kitchen experience preferred, • Basic food handling and sanitation knowledge, • Ability to follow instructions and recipes, • Strong teamwork and communication skills, • Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 35 lbs Cook II (Experienced Cook) Pay Rate: $24.79/hr Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM OR 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (varies) Type: Contract to Hire Location: NJ 07042 Job Summary: Experienced cook responsible for preparing high-quality meals using advanced cooking techniques in a hospital kitchen environment. Responsibilities: • Prepare large batch meals and complex recipes, • Use advanced cooking techniques and knife skills, • Assist with inventory and kitchen production planning, • Follow standardized recipes and food safety procedures, • Maintain cleanliness and kitchen organization, • Support high-volume food production operations Requirements: • 3–4 years cooking or kitchen experience required, • Strong culinary and food preparation skills, • Ability to work in fast-paced hospital environment, • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand long periods, • Team-oriented and dependable Utility Worker (Dishwasher / Sanitation) Pay Rate: $17.81/hr Hours: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (alternating weekends & holidays) Type: Contract to Hire Location: NJ 07042 Job Overview: Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital kitchen and food service areas. Responsibilities: • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, • Clean kitchen areas (floors, walls, refrigerators, surfaces), • Sweep, mop, and maintain sanitary workspaces, • Remove trash and transport supplies/equipment, • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards Requirements: • Entry-level friendly (no experience required), • High school diploma/GED preferred, • Dependable and punctual, • Ability to perform physical tasks and stand for long periods, • Basic ability to follow instructions If you are interested and meet the requirements, please apply today.
