Job Description Long Island based Law Office specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice seeks a personable, organized and motivated full-time Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our firm. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (DO NOT APPLY UNLESS MEET): • BI-LINGUAL: English and Spanish, • Minimum of 2-3 years in a personal injury or medical malpractice law firm., • Full Time; In-Office in New Hyde Park, NY, • Tech savvy and familiar with lead and case management systems, • Ability to manage court calendar, • Clear communication skills and ability to speak with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, experts, etc., • Ability to follow work-process guidelines, multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines, • Proficient with legal research software, • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools and Google Suite, • Reliable and responsible., • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to ethical standards and excellence, • Must be a proactive and have a can-do positive attitude. Responsibilities include: • Handling new client intakes, • Managing cases through proprietary database, • Securing required documents from clients, including retainer documentation, medical records, authorizations., • Open claims with carriers; file no fault applications, • Drafting: Summons and Complaints; Bills of Particulars; Discovery Responses; Discovery Demands; Requests for Preliminary Conferences; Note of Issues, Settlement Paperwork, etc., • Communicating with clients, other attorneys’ offices, experts, witnesses, medical providers, hospitals, etc. to obtain necessary records and documents., • Assist with preparation for depositions hearings and trial presentations, • Support firm’s daily operations SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE Send Resume and Cover Letter to Job Type: Full-time Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year Benefits: • Paid time off
