Details\n \n • Hospital-based Endoscopy/GI procedural unit supporting Pre-Procedure, Intra-Procedure, and PACU/Recovery care\n, • Evening shift schedule: 5x7.5-hour shifts, 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM\n, • Weekends not required\n, • Floating required\n, • Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, and adults\n, • Average daily census of 33 with 5 visits per day across 6 rooms and 15 beds\n, • Staffing ratio of 1:2\n, • Unit performs ERCP, EUS, ESD, POEM, EMR, complex polypectomy, EGD, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy procedures\n, • Cases include general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care (MAC)\n, • Uses Omnicell medication system and SBAR communication\n, • EPIC charting experience preferred but not required\n Requirements\n \n, • Active New York State RN license required\n, • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required\n, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n, • ICU/critical care experience required\n, • PACU/Recovery experience required\n, • Required patient ratio experience of 1:3\n, • Skills required: airway management, starting and maintaining IVs, administering and monitoring conscious sedation, recovery from conscious sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, emergency response, specimen handling and labeling, and circulating for procedures\n, • Experience with bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD required\n, • Pediatric experience preferred for those assigned pediatric cases\n, • Prior travel nursing experience required\n, • COVID vaccine required with no exceptions\n, • Copy of certifications and hard copy of license required\n, • Copy of official diploma required for candidates with international degrees\n Additional Information\n \n, • Provide nursing care across Pre-Procedure, Intra-Procedure, and PACU/Recovery for outpatient and hospitalized patients in a high-volume GI/Endoscopy unit\n, • Work alongside Nurse Practitioners, CRNAs, Hospitalists, Anesthesiologists, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, Interpretation Services, Transportation, and Unit Secretary support\n, • 22.5-hour orientation provided\n, • First-time travelers are not accepted\n, • RTO must be 5 days or less with no time off requested within the first 2 weeks of assignment\n, • Local candidates accepted at the same rate\n, • Previous NYU perm staff must wait 1 year before returning as a travel employee\n, • EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing for certain units\n, • Two managerial references required (Charge RN references not accepted)\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-750166.
