Job Description Job Summary: The Resident Technology Support Specialist will provide on-site assistance to residents and staff with technology needs at the Inverness Club communities. The role focuses on practical, hands-on assistance rather than advanced IT work, making it well-suited for candidates with everyday technology experience. This position supports the ongoing transition away from Spectrum cable toward smart-TV based services, WiFi usage, and other property technology systems. The Specialist will assist residents in device setup, troubleshooting, and technology education. The position will also support property operations by coordinating with the IT Director on routers, phone systems, call systems, and other network equipment. The Resident Technology Support Specialist must reflect the mission of TISHCO Properties LLC by demonstrating patience, professionalism, clear communication, and a willingness to assist elderly and disabled residents with varying levels of technology comfort. Position Status: This is a part-time position (32 hours per week), with the flexibility to work up to 40 hours during periods of higher need such as the initial cable transition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities, and competencies required of the position. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. • Resident Technology Support, • Assist residents with personal devices such as phones, tablets, laptops, smart home devices, and streaming equipment., • Assist residents with setup and operation of smart TVs, streaming applications, and device connectivity., • Support residents in navigating WiFi networks and basic troubleshooting., • Provide one-on-one assistance and small group educational sessions as needed., • Maintain a resident-friendly, patient-centered approach at all times., • Track common resident issues and communicate patterns to management and IT., • Property Technology Systems, • Support IT Director (Robert) in ensuring routers, phone systems (8x8), and EliseAI call systems function correctly., • Conduct basic on-site troubleshooting before escalating to IT., • Assist with the installation and testing of additional routers or access points as directed., • Perform routine checks of technology equipment in community rooms and staff offices., • Cable Transition Support, • Assist in preparing for the transition away from Spectrum cable services., • Help coordinate smart TV distribution and documentation of resident credits., • Serve as the on-site contact for residents during the transition period., • Maintain logs of equipment needs, tech issues, and completed support tasks., • Customer Service & Communication, • Provide warm, patient, and respectful support to elderly and disabled residents., • Communicate with staff regarding resident needs and follow-up items., • Coordinate with the property team to prevent service disruptions., • Maintain accurate, timely documentation of support provided., • Program & Administrative Support, • Maintain a technology support log for property and corporate use., • Assist with educational materials and handouts for residents., • Collaborate with the management team to improve communication and service delivery., • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and corporate initiatives as assigned., • Team Participation, • Work collaboratively with property management, maintenance, and resident services teams., • Coordinate closely with IT Director to maintain system functionality., • Maintain productive relationships with community partners and vendors., • Professional Development, • Participate in technology training as needed to stay current with property systems., • Engage in continued learning to better support residents during the cable transition. Qualifications Skills, Education, and/or Experience • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Ideal candidates will have practical experience assisting others with basic technology, • Must be comfortable working with seniors and individuals with disabilities.., • Experience providing customer support, IT troubleshooting, or resident-facing assistance preferred., • Familiarity with smart TVs, streaming services, routers, and WiFi basics., • Ability to work patiently with elderly and disabled residents., • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills., • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment., • Must be able to use basic office and technology equipment., • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently; occasional team lifting for heavier items., • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and use hands for extended periods., • Must be able to remain calm and patient while assisting residents with varying skill levels., • Must pass background check and pre-employment screenings., • Reasonable accommodations may be made as necessary. Page Break • Initiate programs which promote stable housing; homeless prevention; education; employment; home ownership; asset development; health awareness initiatives, including wholistic, mental, emotional, and physical health; on-site and off-site educational activities and events that may include arts and crafts, health and safety, nutrition education, birthday or holiday celebrations, etc., • Develop and maintain services and programs with community providers., • Collaborate with assigned property’s staff to meet program needs., • Maintain records, compile statistics, documentation, and provide information as requested., • Coordinate volunteer participation in the delivery of programs., • Solicit regular resident input for program planning., • Referral Delivery, • Respond to referrals for individual services, • Provide information, referrals, and advocacy, • Work with residents to set goals, develop plans, make referrals and connect with community service providers, • Maintain ongoing communication with the referral source, the resident, other assigned property staff, and community service providers, • Maintain accurate, timely and detailed documentation on casework in accordance with professional ethics and corporate procedures, • Act as a liaison between community-based social services and housing management staff for the benefit of individual residents, • Act as an advocate for individual residents to assist with efforts to maintain affordable housing, • Produce and quarterly update and directory of important community services for resident use., • Promote Community Building, • Promote positive resident/community involvement., • Support resident association activities and leadership development., • Support resident initiatives through provision of technical and resource support., • Develop collaborative relationships to support Advantage Center Operations., • Program Administration, • Prepare or assist with service agreements., • Prepare or assists with quarterly/annual summary reports to owner/affiliate boards., • Monitor service provider agreements and reports to owner/affiliate boards., • Prepare monthly benchmark reports., • Prepare other reports as requested., • Promote positive relationships within the housing community and surrounding neighborhood, • Work closely with housing management staff to develop and maintain safe housing and to promote resident self-sufficiency.
