American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: OR - Operating Room, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/30/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, • Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center Operating Room, • Patient population includes Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases, • Preferred exposure to Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology, • Day shift schedule: 5x8s, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, • Required to work every other weekend (2 weekends per month), • Call required: one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday, with no weekday call, • Mandatory floating within scope to meet facility needs, including possible floating to other units or Cook facilities up to 50 miles away, • EMR system used is Cerner; prior Cerner experience preferred, • Primary responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating on complex surgical procedures in a high-acuity setting, • Navy blue scrubs are provided and must be worn, • Team-based model is used when floated outside primary competency area, • No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be allowed, • RTO limited to 5 days with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day before/after a holiday, • Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting offer, • Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility, • Locals are accepted and preferred\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license is required at time of application, • Current BLS certification required, • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Operating Room experience required, • Level 1 trauma experience required, • Strong skills in both scrub and circulate roles required, • Documented experience with Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases, • Proof of COVID vaccine required\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
