American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Decatur, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, • Work in the ICU department of an acute care hospital with Level II Trauma designation, • 20 bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 for all shifts, • Night shifts from 18:00 to 06:30, four 12-hour shifts per week, • Care for adult critical care patients with cardiac, neurological, renal, and complex respiratory needs, • Floating within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals is required as needed, • Every other weekend rotation required, • Uses Cerner EMR; prior experience required, • Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients with advanced monitoring and interventions, • Will be part of a collaborative ICU team with access to support during shifts, • Royal blue scrubs required for all staff, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply, • Must be able to work at least 2 of 3 major holidays if scheduled, • Locals accepted with no distance radius restrictions, • Candidates cannot have been a permanent or PRN employee of the health system in the past 12 months, • RTO up to 5 days is generally permitted; more requires approval, • Parking is free with permit obtained during orientation\n \n Requirements\n, • Active Illinois RN license required at time of application, • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications from AHA or Red Cross (RQI cards not accepted), • Experience with cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia management, 12-lead EKGs, and cardiac interventions, • Proficiency in pre/post cardiac cath care, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, and IV therapy, • Experience with titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous sedation, and emergency medications, • Experience managing CVA/acute stroke, chronic/acute renal failure, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning, • Familiarity with infection prevention, isolation precautions, use of PPE, code blue, and rapid response protocols\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
