American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Portland, Maine. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Duration: 26 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, • Position is based in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and post-surgical care, • Unit serves post-cardiac and thoracic surgical patients, including cardiac telemetry cases, • The 36-bed unit has a 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio on days and 1:5 on nights, • Night shift schedule is 19:00-07:30 with every to every other weekend required, • No on-call responsibilities for this position, • RNs are first to float and may be assigned to other med/surg units as needed according to a 25-mile float policy between facilities, • Uses Epic for electronic medical records; Epic experience is preferred, • Responsibilities include caring for patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgeries, as well as those requiring advanced cardiac monitoring, • A flexible and teamwork-oriented attitude is essential, • Open toe shoes and t-shirts with logos are not allowed as attire, • Hospital onboarding modules will be assigned on the first day, • Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and will receive a different pay rate, • No travel pairs or groups are permitted for this assignment, • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this information\n \n Requirements\n, • Active RN license (Compact or ME state) required, • Current BLS certification required, • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with strong cardiac telemetry background, • Preferred experience includes cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacement, post aortic dissection repair), thoracic surgery (VATS, wedge resection, lobectomy), and familiarity with chest tubes and temporary epicardial pacemakers, • Proficiency in care for post-TAVR patients and patients with heart failure or pulmonary hypertension, • Experience administering medications such as amiodarone, insulin, dobutamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, and diltiazem preferred, • Driver’s license must be provided for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
