Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: MRI Technologist, • Discipline: Allied Health Professional, • Start Date: 01/20/2026, • Duration: 8 weeks, • 40 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours Job Summary The MRI Technologist is responsible for operating and preparing specialized MRI equipment to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams. This role requires sound technical judgment to produce studies that meet established protocols while addressing individual patient needs. Key Responsibilities \t • Perform MRI examinations in accordance with departmental policies and established protocols\t, • Properly position patients and MRI coils to ensure optimal image quality\t, • Educate patients on imaging procedures, including exam expectations and specific instructions\t, • Review and verify patient safety screening questionnaires prior to entry into the MRI suite\t, • Ensure all images are accurately labeled per departmental SOPs\t, • Assess images for technical quality and transmit studies to PACS in a timely manner\t, • Complete and update all MRI exams in IDX (Radiology Information System) promptly\t, • Maintain cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment at the beginning and end of each shift, including removal of soiled linens\t, • Scan and upload patient-related documentation as required\t, • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and accessories necessary for safe operation\t, • Accurately document patient tracking information in IDX\t, • Schedule imaging exams in IDX as needed\t, • Report equipment malfunctions, repair needs, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel\t, • Assist physicians during procedures when required\t, • Coordinate and call for inpatient exams as necessary\t, • Perform clerical and administrative duties in the absence of support staff\t, • Adhere strictly to MRI safety standards to prevent the introduction of ferromagnetic materials into the scan room\t, • Follow infection control policies to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and self\t, • Participate in in-services, training, and professional development activities\t, • Maintain all required licensure and certifications in good standing in compliance with applicable Public Health Codes\t, • Strong knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and physical sciences\t, • Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology\t, • ARRT certification in MRI\t Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
