Responsibilities: • Assisting with managing problem behavior, • Implementation of skill acquisition programs, • Material preparation, • Assisting with self-care routines (e.g., using the restroom, changing after gym), • Engaging with learners while they are accessing reinforcers (e.g., playing basketball), • Assisting with community outings (e.g., ordering food at fast food restaurants), • Other activities as assigned, • Good communication skills, • Proficient with educational technology (e.g. tablets, computers), • Minimum 60 college credits, • Valid Driver's License, • Experience working with children preferred, • Experience working with learners with autism or special needs preferred Compliance with Federal, State and NJDOE Personnel Code requirements, including but not limited to Mantoux TB test, Criminal History. Motor Vehicle Review, Citizenship Status Working Environment/Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, standing, occasional running, occasional lifting (up to 75lbs), good fine and gross motor coordination when guiding students, ability to supervise play and exercise routines, vision and hearing and receptive and expressive language abilities, as suited to instructional and behavioral needs of one's students. Schedule: Part-time: 28.75 hours/week 9:00 am - 2:45 pm Salary: $18-22.50/hour, dependent on experience.
