Our practice is committed to providing the highest level of surgical care in a professional, supportive, and team-oriented environment. We are looking for an assistant with 13 years of oral surgery experience preferred, although experienced general dental assistants who are motivated to learn oral surgery are encouraged to apply. Position Overview The Surgical/Dental Assistant will work closely with the oral surgeon and clinical team to assist with outpatient oral surgery procedures, patient care, and clinical operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced surgical environment, and is comfortable working in a team setting. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to anticipate the surgeons needs during procedures, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and infection control. Responsibilities Clinical & Surgical Assistance • Assist the oral surgeon during surgical procedures including:, • Wisdom teeth extractions, • Dental implant placement, • Bone grafting, • Surgical extractions, • Cosmetic surgery procedures, • Other oral surgical procedures, • Prepare and maintain the surgical operatory before and after procedures, • Maintain sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols, • Anticipate surgeon needs and provide efficient chairside assistance, • Assist with patient monitoring and support during procedures, • Take radiographs (panoramic, CBCT, and intraoral imaging when applicable)Patient Care, • Prepare patients for surgery and review medical history, • Provide clear and compassionate pre-operative and post-operative instructions, • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout treatment, • Support anxious patients with a calm and reassuring demeanor, • Assist with post-operative follow-up care when necessaryClinical Operations, • Sterilization of instruments and maintenance of sterilization logs, • Preparation of surgical trays and supplies, • Maintain proper inventory of clinical materials, • Ensure operatories are fully stocked and organized, • 13 years of Oral Surgery assisting experience, • Experience assisting with:, • Wisdom teeth extractions, • Dental implant surgery, • IV sedation proceduresMinimum Qualifications, • Dental assisting experience in a general dental practice, • X-ray certification (required), • CPR/BLS certification (required.
