Job Description Location Highlight Health is a mission-driven company that protects consumer rights and controls healthcare costs exclusively for self-funded employers and their stop loss carriers. We are a profitable, fast-growing company without private equity investors. We are looking for an experienced project manager to plan and execute complex strategic initiatives. While this role resides in the Technology department, project teams will be cross-functional and not all projects will be IT focused. The manager needs to have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will need to communicate effectively with technical teams, business staff, and leadership to keep team members on task and projects moving forward. They will diligently track project status to generate progress reports for leadership, including potential blockers and solutions. They must be able to manage multiple projects at once, with a strong ability to prioritize. We want a candidate with people management experience. The manager will set and document monthly goals with their direct reports. These goals will ensure that staff are contributing to strategic initiatives while continuously learning and developing. In this role, you will play a key part in increasing our project velocity to improve operational efficiency and enable new capabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Project Leadership:, • Plan, execute, and oversee projects from initiation through completion., • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets., • Identify and manage project risks and dependencies., • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment., • Monitor project performance and generate regular progress reports., • Report project status, including areas needing improvement, to the leadership team on a weekly basis., • Track the status of all projects in an online project management system that can be shared with leadership and front-line managers., • Manage risk and openly report project challenges and potential delays., • Projects span technology, legal, financial, claims analysis, and operations., • People Management:, • Directly manage and mentor a team of 3–8 team members, all on the technology team (software engineers, data scientists, etc)., • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and professional development planning. Create written monthly goals for all direct reports., • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture., • Manage team workload allocation and support career progression., • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement., • Process Improvement:, • Recommend and implement best practices for project and team management., • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains., • Come to work each day with the goal of making at least one thing better. Experience and Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • At least 5 years of experience in project management with at least 2 years of people management responsibility., • Proven success in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams., • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)., • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills., • Bachelor’s degree., • PMP or similar certification.
