Job Description Job SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist I with a background in cosmetics, personal care, food science, or a related industry. This role supports the formulation and characterization of hair and cosmetic products, focusing on product performance, physicochemical testing, and stability analysis. The ideal candidate is autonomous, highly observant, and methodical, with strong lab skills and a passion for innovation. Key Responsibilities • Conduct physicochemical characterization of hair and cosmetic products following established protocols (e.g., microscopy, rheology, pH analysis, viscosity, and in-vitro methods), • Assist in Design of Experiments (DoE) to evaluate product stability, appearance, and performance, • Explore and implement new characterization techniques and tools, • Ensure accurate data recording and traceability from sample intake through result reporting, • Maintain organized stability records and contribute to sample tracking/logistics between formulation and characterization labs, • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize testing processes and laboratory workflow, • Uphold high standards of quality, safety, and compliance in all lab operations, • Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvement and efficiency Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physical Sciences, or related field, • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience, or relevant certification/diploma (e.g., Quality Control, Physical Measurements), • Strong foundation in math and science, with the ability to analyze and interpret lab data, • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work autonomously, while also contributing effectively to team efforts, • Experience in cosmetics, personal care, paint, or food industry formulation and stability testing Hands-on experience with: • pH meters, • Microscopy, • Viscometer/Rheometer, • Foam analyzer, • Familiarity with batching equipment such as Olsa, Disconti, or Silverson mixers (a plus, but not required), • Relevant lab or quality control certifications preferred but not required Education: Bachelors Degree Company DescriptionCompunnel Inc., established in 1994; is a leading provider of Staffing, IT/Software, e-Learning/Training, Business Intelligence, and Cloud Solutions.
